Get a Good Night’s Sleep with Ambien 5 mg Tablets
For good health, adults typically need 6-7 hours of sleep every night. Lack of sleep can lead to other medical conditions such as depression, diabetes type 2, heart disease, and obesity. Ambien 5 mg tablets, which contain the active ingredient Zolpidem, can help suppress sleep-related symptoms.
Ambien Dosage and Proper Usage
Ambien medication is available in two forms: Ambien and Ambien CR (controlled release). At BigpharmaUSA, we offer Ambien in various strengths to prevent symptoms of sleepiness and daytime drowsiness.
When starting treatment, women should take at least 5 mg of Ambien, while men can take 5 or 10 mg. Older adults should take 5 mg once a day before bedtime. Your doctor may increase your dose as needed, but taking more than 10 mg per day is not recommended.
For Ambien CR, adult women should take 6.25 mg, while men can take 6.25 or 12.5 mg once a day before bedtime. Your doctor may increase the dosage if necessary, but do not take more than 12.5 mg in a day. Older adults should take only 6.25 mg once a day. Children under 17 years old should not use Ambien or Ambien CR as they do not respond to the medication and are at a higher risk of developing side effects.
Precautions and Mechanism of Ambien
When taking Ambien, it is important to follow your doctor’s instructions carefully. Take each dose with plenty of water and avoid taking the tablets with food or after a meal as this may delay the effects of the medication. Ambien should be taken just before bedtime, and you should allow for at least 7-8 hours of sleep before doing any activities that require alertness.
Ambien works by enhancing the activities of the inhibitory neurotransmitters gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) via selective agonism at benzodiazepine-1(BZ). This results in an increase in chloride conductance, neuronal over-polarization, and inhibition of the action pot, promoting sedative and hypnotic effects. However, Ambien has minimal anxiolytic, myorelaxant, and anticonvulsant qualities.
As with any medication, Ambien has potential side effects and precautions. It can cause severe drowsiness and dizziness, so you should avoid driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous work while taking it. Avoid consuming alcohol, narcotics drugs, or other street drugs as they can induce severe drowsiness and dizziness, which can be dangerous.
Store Ambien 5 mg tablets at normal room temperature in a cool, dry place. Keep them in a safe place like a locked cabinet and out of reach of children and pets. Do not stop taking Ambien abruptly if you have been taking it for over 2 weeks as withdrawal effects may occur. Consult with your doctor if you need to stop taking the medication.
